Best Xbox 360 Online Campaign Co-Op Games

3 min read

Every gamer is different. Some game enthusiasts like to go solo and play all by their lonesome. However, since online gaming has become more accessible, many gamers are turning online to play with their friends. This is good news for some people who may have friends and/or family far away. There are many games that have been released with the ability to play online co-op, not all have been good games though. Here are the best Xbox 360 online campaign co-op games that have been released.

1- Gears of War 3: The final epic game in the trilogy allows four players to play online through the campaign. The campaign itself is worth paying for, however after you and your friends are done defeating the Locusts you can try your hand at Horde or Beast mode in online co-op action. The great feature of this game is you can take the role of the Locust and fight against the COGs. Gears of War 3 will keep you gaming online for weeks.

2- Borderlands: In this post-apocalyptic game, you can team up with friends online as you play through this action packed RPG. Players can trade weapons, use a variety of tactics, and level up their characters separately from their friends. Each player’s class as special abilities that have to be used to support their teammates. One of the unique features of this game is that it is really an open world game, where you do not have to be right with your online friends to progress through the campaign.

3- Halo Reach: Unless you have been living under a rock for the last ten years, you know all about Halo and its impact on online gaming. The final Bungie developed Halo game didn’t disappoint. With four player online campaign co-op and the new Firefight mode, co-op fans have hours of fun ahead of them when they put this game into their Xbox 360.

4- Left 4 Dead 2: In Valve’s second reiteration of the original players take the role of a different set of survivors as you and up to 4 online friends use all new blunt force weapons, chainsaws and new guns. Working together with your crew is vital as high intensity moments require greater communication to survive. One of my favorite online co-op modes is Scavenger Mode in which the survivors must find fuel hidden throughout the level to stay alive, while the opposing team plays as the infected and tries to stop them.

5- Call of Duty: World at War: Lastly, but certainly not least is Treyarch’s attempt at online campaign co-op. The co-op campaign allows up to 4 players to level up and unlock perks in a sort of competitive multiplayer. This allows a lot of re-playability to the game and trying to complete a variety of challenges. And of course, we can’t forget out Nazi Zombies. This is the first time we got to experience Zombie mode in any Call of Duty game and it is absolutely a joy to play with 3 other friends and attempt to ward off a horde of zombies trying to kill all of you.
